Common Questions
Answers for Clients and Their Families
Is what I say during my counselling confidential?
Yes. Your privacy and confidentiality are important to us. What you share during counselling is treated with respect and kept confidential in accordance with professional and ethical requirements.
There are limited circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken, such as when there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person, or where disclosure is required by law. Where possible and appropriate, your practitioner will discuss this with you before any information is shared.
Your practitioner will explain confidentiality and its limits during your initial consultation, and you are always welcome to ask questions about how your information is managed.
How can I book a counselling session?
You can book your free 30-minute initial consultation through our online booking portal, or contact us if you’d like help getting started.
During this conversation, we’ll listen to what brings you to counselling, answer your questions and discuss whether our support is right for you.
Sessions are available online or, where suitable and available, at an agreed location such as your home or your child’s school.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions may be 30, 45 or 60 minutes in duration depending on individual needs.
Do you offer reduced fees for concession card holders?
Concession card holders, students and clients experiencing financial hardship may be eligible for discounts of 50% or more, depending on individual circumstances. Your initial consultation is FREE, and an appropriate fee for future sessions will be discussed and agreed with your practitioner.
