What Young Basketball Players Really Need From Parents

As a basketball parent, I've spent years learning that skill development is only one part of the journey.

Confidence, emotional regulation, resilience after mistakes, self-belief, and maintaining a love for the game are equally important.

That's why I enjoyed reading "How to Be an Elite Parent for Young Basketball Players" by Eric Miraflores and Ivan Carlos.

The book reminds us that our role is not to control our child's journey but to support it, guide it, and help them grow both on and off the court.

A worthwhile read for parents who want to support their young athletes in a healthy and positive way.
